Let’s Tell Yours.
Powerful, Engaging Stories.
They’re all around you, but mostly untapped or under-utilized.
Growth Story exists to uncover and craft your stories into narratives that captivate your audience to drive engagement, loyalty and growth.
Growth Story also provides 1:1 Executive Story Coaching and highly interactive (and super-fun) group training based on time-tested Improv concepts, structures and games that focus on the essential – but often neglected business triumvirate of Teamwork + Storytelling + Stagecraft
Customers, prospects, investors, partners and potential employees all want self-service content. So what is the most powerful content you can produce?
Neuroscience tells us that stories are the most effective type of content to share, as the human brain behaives differently when hearing a story verses other types of information. Specifially, when hearing a story, your brain produces chemicals like cortisol (helps with memory formation), dopamine (aids engagement) and oxytocin (associated with empathy).
In other words, unlike spreadsheets, bullet point lists, or slides, stories allow you to engage an empathetic audience who remembers what you just shared.
Yet most people have been taught neither the art nor the science of storytelling – not in hich school, college, graduate school or on the job.
The good news part 1? Human beings are genetically predisposed to tell stories – it’s one of our super powers.
Good news, part 2 is that everyone – and I mean everyone – can learn how to tell effective stories.

I founded Growth Story to help you uncover your personal and professional stories and to develop storytelling skills for you and all your colleagues.
I spent 27+ years in international sales and marketing for market research and consulting firms, working closely with Strategy, M&A, Marketing, Sales, Product Owners, R&D, Suppy Chain and Procurement teams.
My career has provided me with the opportunity to work across many industries, including Automotive, CPG / FMCG, Chemicals , Food & Beverage, Hitech, Industrials, Infrastucture, Government, Life Sciences, Materials, Media, Metals & Mining, Paper & Packaging
I learned Improv Comedy at the famed Boom Chicago theater in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, where I was lucky enough to learn from and interact with Seth & Josh Meyers, Ike Barinholtz and Brendan Hunt.
I then performed Improv Comedy professionally for several years in Europe (The Comedy Cafe in Amsterdam) and the US (ImprovBoston & The Comedy Connection in Portland, ME).

After that I spent 20+ years using the principles of Improv to teach teamwork, storytelling & stagecraft, working with F1,000 firms like Lockheed Martin, small & medium businesses, educators, at-risk youth and at national conferences.
I co-wrote a screenplay and authored a novel entitled, “Questions of Iron & Blood“. I am currenlty writing the second book in the Finn Koenen series, “Swatting at Wasps with a Crowbar”. All told I have written and edited well over half a million words over the past 8 years.
I surf as often as the Maine waters will allow and play ice hockey when they don’t.
Also dogs. Dogs are the best.
